A Last Word...Perhaps

|

I cannot, with a straight face, pretend that I have kept up with this website. Nor, I imagine, have you. For this I offer the following reasons: one, that other work, especially in the educational sector, has multiplied in quantity and quality; two, that I have become more interested in a sports capacity, and have moved on to different internet communities; three, that the sheen of the undiscovered wonders of the internet has largely worn off, which is perhaps not a positive. Nevertheless, I’ve been struggling to get an idea out of my mind, and seeing it as an opportunity to use this site for that purpose which it was originally designed: to offer my own half-assed opinion. Thus, to whosoever may pass by, I ask this question simply as a point for reflection:

I think there is a strong sentiment, amongst the more politically attuned of us, to villainize the Corporation. By this I mean, to render the corporation as a faceless, cruel monster to which we all fall victim – to make it the villain. I am by no means an ardent supporter of MNCs (those who know my political views would know that I am hardly ultra-capitalist), and to some extent this is true. But can we absolve ourselves, the consuming public, of all blame?

There is always a desire to attack corporations for acts that appear quite clearly to be wrongdoings. We condemn the Exxon Valdez for negligence resulting in environmental catastrophe; moreover, we raise the point that double-hulled ships should have been considered necessary. We berate companies for the use of sweatshops and other methods of cutting cost by cutting the quality working conditions. Most obviously, we despise the Bush regime for its apparent economic motives for wars in the Middle East.

Those are all, I hope you agree, terrible things, and I do not argue that such a desire is necessarily misplaced. Anyone who doubts our complicity in these actions will argue that hardly any member of the consuming public would have wished such things to occur, and I can only agree. Complicity can be found in a number of other ways, but again, we can point to fixed elections, limited purchasing capacity, and covered-up information to remove ourselves from the equation. It is these evil corporations and governments who are to blame, and not us. We are two, separate, distinct entities. At least, that is a common attitude.

However, we are inextricably linked. It is naïve, I think, to believe that we are enslaved to these institutions, and that the relationships are not at all reciprocal. After all, as much as we provide funds for them, they are to provide services and products for us. And it is the desire of the vast majority of Western society, I would think, to live as decadently as is possible in our respective incomes. We want to be able to get as much as possible – a result of this is that we, for the most part, demand as low prices as possible. If products A and B could be purchased when manufactured in Country Y for the same price as only product A when manufactured in Country X, the majority of us would want the former. Part of this materialism stems from the relentless advertising of corporations, but more still stems from basic human selfishness.
It is, therefore, not necessarily with great malice that corporations go into third-world countries for manufacturing purposes or raw materials. The Exxon Valdez used a single-hulled ship not out of hatred for the environment but for the desire to offer as low a price as possible: these low-as-possible prices originate from our desire to be able to afford more. The result is that other things: the environment, the third world, etc. end up paying the difference.

The Exxon Valdez, I think, is a good example, because our way of life is entirely predicated on cheap oil, and cheap energy. Suburbia is made possible by it. The ability to have international products and food transported to us is made possible by it. The ability to heat our houses in the winter and cool them in the summer, to power our electronics, to keep our food refrigerated: all of this is made possible (or fueled, to use a pun) by cheap energy.

In this way, in this relentless demand for as low-as-possible prices, we are made indirectly but ultimately very directly complicit. To be sure, much of the wrongdoings of corporations originate from their desire to turn a buck, but a large part of this is to fulfill the demand of low costs to the consumers: because, for the most part, we want to live as decadently as possible, so long as we aren’t directly wronging someone. Out of sight wrongdoings, however, are out of mind.

It is for this reason that I roll my eyes when well-meaning souls muse that they wish everybody had it as good as they do. The polarization of the world is not coincidental or a case of us simply not printing enough money for the other 80%: our standard of life is predicated on the poverty of the rest of the world. I do not feel that blaming the corporation or placing more restrictions on them is a way of solving this issue. We have to take a good look at ourselves. What this means is reduced consumption (alternative forms of energy, for all they’ve been lauded, may not make up for the peaking of oil), and more ethical consumption when we do consume.

Ethical consumption does, of course, mean increased prices. This is a sacrifice we must make if we have any real desire to improve the other man’s lot. Corporations pursue minimum production costs (and thus, largely limited ethical production) because we have dictated that what we desire are minimum prices. If the consuming public should suddenly up and demand more ethical means of manufacturing – in exchange, of course, for a bit more dough – then any moderately intelligent corporation will listen to those demands.

A good example of this idea is the recent phenomenon of “selling green.” A sizeable portion of companies have bought into this, advertising products that make the consumer believe that they are doing something good for the environment. Another, if less wide-spread phenomenon, is that of Fair Trade, a foundation on which Bridgehead has seen a meteoric rise, at least in Ottawa.

This has not been a final solution, however. Companies still often have one small segment of a product be “green,” but market the product as though it is entirely so. This reminds us that many companies remain a part of the problem. But this is a solution that requires us not merely to make ourselves seem the victim, but recognize our role. We must do much of the work. Otherwise, we will continue to close our eyes as we fire bullets into the rest of the world.

Cinderella: the Hidden Message – (from a Humorous Perspective)

|

As a note to readers, I wrote the following because I was bored and wanted to practise my writing abilities, I hope you will like it.

The tale of Cinderella is a heart warming classic. It teaches a very valuable lesson to kids: if you believe and follow your dreams, they will come true – a great and timeless moral that will fill children of all ages with hope. However, there is a deep and disturbing underlying message that parents tend to leave out during their nightly ritual of bed time stories. Although Cinderella follows through with her dreams, it is never supposed to have occurred as she does nothing to try and achieve her goals. It is by pure fortuitous chance that she just happens to have a fairy god-mother waiting for her hand-on-foot, ready to pull her out of any devastating situations. When Cinderella’s step-sisters and step-mother goes out to the ball, probably leaving a sink full of dirty dishes behind, Cinderella just plants her derriere on a stool and unleashes the waterworks by the bucketfuls (after she makes sure the plates are sparkling clean, I assume).

Instead of doing anything, like going out of the house or borrowing one of her wicked sisters’ dress (she can leave the house, she’s an adult for Pete’s sake!), she decides to give up and hope, by magic, someone will whisk her out of her desolation and fly her down in front of the prince and have him swoon over her. So in a way, as she forfeits her dream and is about to live as an abused miserable housemaid for the rest of her life, her magical aide comes to clean up her mess of an existence and completely, and I mean completely, turns it around. If only this world had a bit more magic, then all the little girls will be marrying princes, all the little boys will be superheroes, and all the free-market advocates will never have to face retribution. Or is the story telling us that magic is provided to only those who are worthy? Then I wonder to myself, “who makes this judgement?” and “why does that person have so much power?” Nobody should be awarded with this much control over others!

I also question just how happy her life with the prince will truly be. A spoiled royalty who halted the entire nation’s productivity to find a girl he will be sick of after a week, marries a raggedy Anne who knows absolutely nothing about the outside world with the only credentials “kind and do windows.” When it is finally the prince’s turn to rule, I give this kingdom one year before its armies are decimated, its economy left in total ruins, and its head of state becomes nothing more than a “head-on-stake.”

Final Workplace Rant

|
Just a notice to people, I have finally quit my job... for those looking to apply for a job, we are definitely looking for people (I wasn't the only one, 2 guys and 2 girls left as well)...

Anyways after that last rant, I sort of gave up on the customers...

Anyways...

But lately some idiots came in, and complained about things again... I'll only tell you what happened, I've grown desensitized to such nonsense (Can you BELIEVE THAT?!).

*Ahem*

=================================================================

Asshole Number 1

So it was one of those typical not-busy days in the store, very few customers, great conditions for the workers... I was just going through the "touch-ups" and we were going to close in 1 hour, I can't wait to go home. So I was daydreaming, and just cleaning the bin lids, when suddenly, an old menace loomed before me. She was old, and she was crabby. Of course, I only greeted her with my kindest regards. She completely disregarded that, and started to speak (She did not look like she was in a pleasant mood).

"I was watching you."
(oookkk... like that doesn't sound creepy...)

"You are cleaning the top of a bin, the underside of the bin lid, the scoop for that bin, and going to the next bin... I think that cloth is dirty!" said the "unpleasant woman" (Yes, I put a quote around woman).

"Oh, well I'm sorry, but I can't really change anything, if you have any complaints you'll have to talk to the manager," I said.

"Do you know how many germs there are on that cloth, and the bin lids?" "She" questioned.

"Well, really, I'm sorry, I can't change anything, If you want I could bring the manager - "

"I THINK YOU SHOULD KNOW BETTER!" and "she" stormed out of the store.

I'm guessing she's never coming back again, good riddance to bad rubbish.

Later I told my manager about this incidence, and he merely laughed that I got in trouble with a customer...

By the way, the bins and the cloths are probably cleaner than the one's in your home from constant use, and constant cleaning, there are just stains on it that makes it look extremely dirty.

Lesson Number 1: No one gives a shit to an asshole with no courtesy.

==================================================================

Asshole Number 2

This time, the store is busy, and I just finished helping a customer. *Message to Jamie W, I was also busy*. Suddenly a Buzz Lightyear pinata fell down on top of a customer (keep in mind, these pinatas are very stable, and can only be knocked down when someone starts shaking the bins). I didn't see how it fell, I had my back turned towards it, and when it fell I picked it up and put it in the back room. When I came out, a large lady (trust me, she's neither weak, feeble, nor old) cried out "Aren't you going to ask if I'm ok?"

"Oh, I'm sorry I didn't see it fall - "

"Ya, your Buzz Lightyear pinata fell on my back, and you didn't even ask if I'm ok."

"Like I said, I'm sorry, I didn't see it fall -"

"AREN'T YOU GOING TO ASK ME IF I'M OK?"

"Are you ok?"

"TOO LATE NOW!"

... No lies, that was basically the conversation, not giving me a chance to respond, she kept asking why we didn't care how she was, and when I did, she said it was too late. There's this other co-worker beside me, she's white, so the yeti didn't give her much trouble (=P). The yeti went to the cash, knocked all the other customers waiting in line out of the way, and asked where the manager was.

The supervisor was the cashier at the time, and the yeti proceeded to give the supervisor shit.
"Your Buzz Lightyear pinatas fell on my back, and none of your staff seemed to care. I think some discipline is necessary, and you better watch your pinatas, because they are a lawsuit waiting to happen!"

After that, she left the store, but before that, made a mess in the aisles. I just want to say, the pinatas were frickin' empty and they weighed practically nothing, plus (I know this sounds mean, but) she had like fifty layers of blubber protecting her, I don't even think a bullet can penetrate her.

By the way, she was flipped out, I really don't know why, her face was red, and she was shaking, and she was yelling, her voice was loud enough to make the entire store hear her. I think she thought she had the customers on her side, but when she left, the person I was helping out before this all happened came up to me, and gave me a reassuring look.

Lesson Number 2: Don't over react, you only make yourself look like a fool... and an asshole...

And ya... that's basically the kind of memories that I will keep forever, I was not traumatized one bit during either incidences. Both times, the person in charge just laughed at me for being so unlucky.

==================================================================

Time for A WORKER'S EXPERIENCE!!

There's this black guy who works in the store, and we're pretty good friends. And there's a kind of birdseed called Nyger Seeds.

So apparently a redneck came into the store looked at the things on special advertisement, saw the Nyger Seeds, and gave a soft chuckle. Looked at my colleague, and asked him where the n****r seeds are at.

"Excuse me?"

"Ya, your n***** seeds, where are they?"

The manager walked by at the moment, and said:

"Our NYGER seeds are this way, it's pronounced NYGER."

Ya, he looked like a redneck, idiot, and... you guessed it, an asshole...

Lesson Number 3: Don't be racist, you're only making yourself look bad... and insulting against large groups of people... do any of these sound smart to you?

My colleague will be bitter about this for a long time... I don't blame him...

So there you go... my Final Workplace Rant, not really a rant, sort of a series of unfortunate events.

Virginia Tech Massacre

|
First, a long moment of silence for those who lost their lives in one of the most horrific school shootings in history. The Virginia Tech Massacre. May their souls rest in peace.

I myself am of Chinese decent, and was quite shocked to hear the news reporting the shooter as a Chinese student. It is shameful, and it made me tense. Then the US medias corrected their mistake, and said the killer was a South Korean, I'm not racist, but I was definitely more relieved... but also felt a little angry.

Why? The American government relies so heavily on China, yet, they pass on lies about China and just right away PRESUMES the shooter as a Chinese, they are so hostile towards China, and I'm mad because China (and the rest of the world even) could not/ did not do anything about this, or stand up to the US government's sins against humanity (Maybe a little to far? I don't think so). Of course, I decided to surf the web looking for other people's opinions upon this matter, and I'm surprised at how much hostility there is towards China even still. I don't understand...

I quote: "Why chinese media grabs and relishes this unimportant aspect is beyond me at present."

First of all, shut the FUCK up, you know nothing, so your opinions don't count. The western propaganda has worked its way into the media, the teachings, signs, attitudes, etc. The message is: China is a prominent evil waiting to attack. I'm surprised at how many people actually have a negative attitude towards China when they don't even know what China is like. Of course, we learn in history class at what propaganda is, and how they were used in the war and Communist China.

Now let me explain something to you:

propaganda, and Propaganda.

propaganda: the act of manipulating the masses discreetly, less noticeable, definitely very effective.
Propaganda: the act of manipulating the masses directly, posters, campaign, you name it...

Which is more evil? In my mind propaganda, because at least we know when Propaganda happens. What is definitely present in the Western world? mostly propaganda and sometimes Propaganda, What is used in China, mostly Propaganda, and sometimes propaganda. Know the difference, know how they relate to each other, know so you can tell when it happens.

Rewind to the shooting incident, the guy continued to say, Americans were definitely more politically correct, because their medias don't emphasize the shooter's nationality, what the FUCK is he smoking?

When the shooter was first thought to be Chinese, it was in the media EVERYWHERE. When they found out they were wrong, they didn't even apologize to their mistakes, and changed Chinese to South Korean unceremoniously.

I swear to you, if the shooter was Chinese there would have been an international outcry demanding the Chinese government's apology, plan to change, ETC! But South Korean is not as badly portrayed as the Chinese, so Americans continue to try and find more fault into the Chinese society, their media. "Why does the Chinese media emphasize the nationality so much, so much racism in China."

You may say, n0n4m3, this is just some random idiot from the US who knows diddly-squat, wears a "I'm a Dipshit" sweater everyday, smokes CrystalMeth, gets beat up everyday because he is a loser, and a poser. This is just one example of American STUPIDITY. What about the others.

I don't like to discriminate against Americans, I've met some very nice, very interesting Americans. I swear, those people's intents and attitudes are non-hostile, and most times even friendly. What can I say, the other population is just... well, dumb...

I just want everyone to realize that propaganda is happening, and it is against the Chinese government, be weary of what you read. This is why the Chinese media emphasizes the nationality so much, because they don't want even more anti-China western propaganda.

Yet, ironically, it happens, propaganda is so deeply rooted in the American Society that it passes on by itself.

I can't say anymore, I'm tired of arguing, propaganda is too strong, I feel drowned, brainwashed... ready to become one of its victims, but I can't be, and I won't be. I will be always fighting, and I'm sure the people visiting this website are intellectuals, and you too will fight against it.

Of course, before I go, I would like to say, I am truly and deeply sorry for the lives of all that is affected by this terrible, disgusting incident. Why a man decides to do such a thing, I will never understand, they just CANNOT be right in their minds.

Humbly Yours,
n0n4m3

It's Time For a Revolution...

|
Don't you hate the movie ratings... Have you ever wanted to watch a sweet movie, but was held back by a small rating sign, and some other snobby teenager?

Let's put everything in reality here... how exactly FAIR is the rating?

Let's take a look at the list of what is in the 18A section:

Nudity: seen that on TV...
Violence: seen that on TV...
Explicit Language: Puh-Leeezz..
Gore: It's some pieces of flesh, and we're all desensitized... what ever...
etc.

Of course, some of you may say... I haven't seen any of that!!
...
Ya right.

Just because we are teenagers with our hormones at the most excited levels, it does not mean we are going to be overly excited after seeing some exposed penis, breast, or vagina. (*Gasp*, my virgin eyes!) I would understand when the rating is 10-14, because that's when puberty is not reached yet, and innocence level is at a high.
When you are in a school yard, or around a group of teenagers, mention the word violence, see who turns around, see who gives a GAWDDAMN FUCK!
What about explicit language? Please read the sentence above.
Wee... Gore... let's go on the news, and look at some Iraq footages, or some terrorist footages, its either shooting, suicide bombing, killing, kidnapping, blood splatterings, blood spraying, or intenstines flying...

I like the way the adults think. Let's not let children watch some movie with fake deaths, fake sex, fake gore, but let them watch something ten times worse and real, the news.

What kind of people started this rating system?

***Men and women who don't have enough to do, and want the ruin the lives of the next generation, and housewives who are bored of their life, and want to feel important. They join these committees and rate movies only to not have enough time to watch their children, while they go watch "explicit content" or smoke pot.

So, I ask... how exactly fair are the ratings?

This is why I call forth a revolution... The revolution of young minds. Beat down the old corrupt system, and make the idiots who rated these movies to go suck themselves off...

Now my question is, who is with me?

(btw... the movie I wanted to watch was 300, story about that might be posted in the forum)

-=n0n4m3=-

***Not all men and women think this way, and not all housewives think this way... Please don't sue me!!

Questions About Life...

|
I'm not the best at putting down my thoughts into writing, or to express it in anyway in fact...

But, there were a couple of thoughts that had been in my mind for quite a long time... I'm just going to write it down, and everyone is free to discuss it in the forum...

*Ahem* Let me begin.

------

This all started one night when I laid in bed and started questioning life, death, and beyond death. I'm sure many of you have put much thought into this, but received no answers. The harder you pondered the question, the more confusing it became. What is life? What is the meaning of life? Why do we die? Is there a God? Is there a heaven? Will I make it to "heaven" even though I do not believe in God?

I wanted to see what the Christian answers to my problems were, so I picked up the bible, and started from the beginning, right at The Genesis, full of hope that maybe "God" would let whomever into heaven no matter what they believed.

How wrong I was indeed. The story of Noah's Ark gave no relief to this feeling. Flooding everyone because he believed no one worships Him anymore. That gave me no help... I continued reading, and the more I read, the more I realized, this "God" is not what he is all cracked up to be. I like Chinese mythology better (by the way, I'm reading the psalms right now).

I may have put the Book down, but my questions are still not close to being answered. Once or twice I thought I had come close, but later realized I was just dozing off to sleep. For a grade 8 speech, I chose the topic "The Meaning of Life." I tried to "research" something about it, what did the other people think? It became too deep to fully explain, so I had to completely B.S. the assignment and get a bad mark on it.

Then I thought about what if humans have researched something that, by the time I come close to dying, can use it and to live longer, or forever? Would I want something like that? All my cells will be dead or dying, I would be paralyzed, I would be sick of life, but still, would I be brave enough to embrace the concept of death?

If not, what are some ways of becoming immortal? Cloning yourself? I became enthralled by the idea by the idea of asexual reproduction, however sick that may sound... What are some other ways of becoming immortal? Something to make cells undergo mitosis with a renewed vigour? Something that can kill cancer cells, or make them beneficial? A couple of days ago at work I was vaccuming the store (vaccuming is the most boring job ever, so while I vaccumed, I pondered the question some more) and realized, cloning is not at all the answer. What you will get is an identical twin, and instead of calling it an identical twin, you call it a clone. If your twin lives, do you somehow live through your twin? I'm thinking not...

But the question jumped back at me again, do I want to become immortal? I realized that I do not. I want to know what becomes of the world, because of my curiosity; but the end will be too sad for me to handle.

So, is my life based on a destiny? Like a completed book, from cover to cover. Maybe it is filled with fantasy, comedy, fiction, reference, and maybe even romance. Last night, my dad told me of a man who used to live in the building across from his. This man died in a huge earthquake. However, the irony about this death was, he was the first to escape from his building, he was the healthiest, strongest man in the community, and no one else but he died from the earthquake in that community.

I'll give you a background story: In 1976, there was an earthquake in Tangshan, China. It is considered one of the most destructive earthquakes in Modern History of the World.

Wikipedia explains it better:

"The Tangshan earthquake (Chinese: 唐山大地震; pinyin: tángshān dà dìzhèn) of July 28, 1976 is one of the largest earthquakes to hit the modern world, in terms of the loss of life. The epicentre of the earthquake was near Tangshan in Hebei, China, an industrial city with approximately one million inhabitants. The earthquake left 242,419 people dead, according to official figures, though some sources offer much higher estimates. A further 164,581 people were recorded as being severely injured. The earthquake came in a series of events which shook China both literally and figuratively in 1976, which was later labeled a year of curse.

The earthquake hit in the early morning, at 03:42:53.8 local time (1976 July 28 19:42:53.8 UTC), and lasted for around 15 seconds. Many sources list it as 8.2 on the Richter scale, but Chinese Government's official sources state 7.8. It was followed by a major 7.1 magnitude aftershock some 15 hours later, increasing the death toll. It was the first earthquake in recent memory to score a direct hit on a major city.[1]"

-Wikimedia

My city is right beside this city if you look at the map, it is Tianjin:

It sent a shockwave through the city and leveled many buildings. The community my dad lived in were all buildings, but none of them collapsed, only some of the walls of the buildings crashed down. After the earthquake occurred, they found one person who lived there to be missing... they went everywhere looking for him, but after several days could not find him. One man picked up a rotting stench somewhere from under the rubble. So they flipped the rubble, and found that he was indeed under the rubble. They dug him out. Remember, this all happened during a HOT summer with temperatures going up to 30-40 degrees, and even more in humidity. It rained often, anndd... I do not think I need to explain more.

Turns out he only had one shoe on, and ran down as quickly as possible. Ironically enough, the building he lived in did not collapse, the walls did not even collapse. What killed him was the wall from the building next to him, it fell down, and fell on him. Remember, in a community of more than 20 households, only one person died, and he was the healthiest.

Sometimes, things happen, that no one would ever expect. These coincidences seem to be too unlikely to be JUST coincidences... This goes back to my original point, maybe our lives are controlled.

So that must mean, there is no meaning to life, there is an omnipotent figure controlling us.

But I am an athiest, and as an athiest I do not believe in this theory very much. I will always want a scientific truth to life... But maybe, this is why being an athiest so hard.

*Sigh* This entire article led me to nowhere, only back to where I started. Maybe life was never meant to be figured out, only to be accepted blindly...

"Reports of My Demise Have Been Greatly Exaggerated"

|
Boy, it has been a while. I've heard subversive mutterings about the demise of Asquaredx2, but believe me, I've been here, although I haven't been posting perhaps as much as I should have been. Allow me to elaborate.

This site is not at the top of my priorities. I am not making money from this site, and you, my viewers, are not paying to view this site (except perhaps for internet bills), and as such there are several items which I value more. In this case, it is ironic since I have two tests tomorrow. If you are completely blind, you would be unaware that there are other posters on this site, so this site can continue to be updated even if I'm not the one doing it. However, since this site is not (yet) presented in a manner which is discernible to the visually impaired, I don't know what you're doing on this site anyway.

Sometimes I just want to reads other people's input, but for those who suggest I retire: it's not going to happen, because I still enjoy doing this. At any rate, I have a head start because I've still done about 70% of the posting here anyway. Trust me. It's in the archives.

There have also been ongoings in my personal life, which is considerably more important to me at this point. For those who don't know, I've become a syndicated author, with my vast collection of children's stories as based off titles presented here.

Any treasury of my writings would include classics such as "Daddy Drinks Because You Cry", "Pop Goes The Hamster, and Other Great Microwave Games", "You Were An Accident", "Barney: The Prison Years", and "Curious George and the High-Voltage Fence". Here's and excerpt from the latter:

"...'Oh Noes!!!!1' cried the Man with the Yellow Hat as George's lifeless body crumpled to the sidewalk. He quickly put out the flames, ensuring that he shielded his eyes from the oncoming crows who had gathered to watch the spectacle and now were looking to feast on the remains..."

I have also starred as co-writer in "Curious George and The Ebola Virus" with Aidan Parchelo and "The Little Train Who Contracted Necrotizing Fasciitis" with Thomas MC (I've mispelled your last name to many times to attempt it now). And finally, my epic ballad, "The Fire Demon", also known as "The Secret Lost in The Water Which Happened to Be On Fire", is now a major motion picture with Paramount Pictures, and is nominated for seven Academy Awards, including Best Fire.

At any rate, this is perhaps an update as I am announcing one project that has finally been completed instead of our executives continuing their indecisive ways. If you are an original reader, you'd recall that this website has a habit of starting projects but never actually following them through (ie, the webcomic that only ever had one comic [glares at Aadam]).

In this case, however, our executives basically just decided to go for it and make a decision. As such, I am now announcing publicly the installation of a forum. "Why a forum? You already have a commenting function!"

There are a few advantages to the forum that our current commenting features just can't do. The forum allows you to interact with our material, but also express opinions, which is something I've kept in the back of my mind since the inception over one year ago. Also, it allows you to start threads, and basically talk about your issues instead of listening to me whine all day. However, if you are too lazy or too insecure to register for an account, then continue to use the commenting function. That's fine too.

This is the first step to bringing this website into the 21st Century (despite the fact that it started in the 21st Century). If you know me, I'm not exactly the 1337357 of people, so whenever I try to do the most basic HTML codes, I end up completely screwing up my template (except for bold or italic) . We (the LMOM team) are still looking for a new template, we're looking at new archiving methods, and Yuxuan has some plans that if I told you, I'd have to kill you.

At the very least, this represents a step in the right direction, and hopefully adds some form of reader involvement (which many people have approached me about). If you have any further suggestions, talk to me about it in the Forum.

And now for something that's extremely overdue,

~Asquaredx2

Too lazy to start my own post, but our forum is undergoing what many would call, "Open-Beta". It is not "officially" started yet, so, any suggestions to make it better is absolutely welcome. If you want to be a moderator, first read all the rules, do not break any, and start posting. Who knows... You might even be a global moderator...

The Month Of L-O-V-E

|

Well, we're finally into the yay! month of February, and so, for a limited time only, actually forget that last part I just said about it being a limited time, Ima post the Love Calculator, where you type in your name and someone elses, and it calculates the % of leurve you two are in. Wow that was a long sentence.

HERE it is!

Also, THIS is a game I love. It's called Line Rider, and it's really addicting so you should all watch out. You draw lines, then click play and watch the dude in a sled try to take on your line.. slope..

Also, in order to help you all out with your increasing amounts of homework, if you add smarterchild@hotmail.com to your msn contacts, the bot will help you if you type in homework, or you can play games too. But don't swear at it, or else it won't love you.

As part of the Jesus thing, I had, before I stopped playing for a bit, made new jokes on RO and ran around shouting them. They were..(BTW, French are replacing a different Race. I don't want to be racist or anything so I'm putting French.)
1. How many French does it take to screw in a lightbulb? None, the instructions are in English.
2. Why did the Frenchman cross the road? To teabag the chicken. (Only FPSers and RPGers will get this. Only ROers will get the reason for it.
3. What's the difference between a Frenchman and a rock? Rocks haven't surrendered to Germany. This one's actually meant to be for French. :D. I made it up just now.

Anyways, in the excitement of the Lovely Semi-Formal coming up and the exciting Winterlude, I am leaving with an exciting bye.

Bye.

While we are here, I just want to hear you opnions about this guy, we are now 90% sure he commited this crime, and obviously, we should be put in jail...

but he's not! Because of one law, Double Jeopardy. Do you think, we should allow a second trial?

If so, why? If not, why?

Personally, I think so, because of incidents like these, plus, what good does it serve anyway? If a person didn't commit a crime, they don't need to go on trial for a second time, so they're guilty...

so why do we still have this law? I mean, everyone can see that this law is pretty much useless...

ANYWAYS... PEACE OUT

Summatives and Such

|
Well, it's summative time, and French class of course makes ours due so we have to stress on about it all through vacation. So im here to bring along some french humor:
http://yoyo.its.monash.edu.au/~mongoose/french/
Be sure to definitely check this out, i recommend looking at the french pronunciation and insulting french phrases. I've always wanted to know how to say "haven't the cops caught you yet?" in french. WARNING: You might take offence to some of the stuff on that site.

Anywho, as the TIK2O computers summative is also up and running, i will supply you with possibly the best joke known to humanity. You've probably all heard it but here goes...
Why do computer programmers get Halloween and Christmas mixed up?
Because DEC25 = OCT31!!!
Zomg. So... it's dutch christmas today so if any of you feel like putting out your clogs next to the fireplace, Sinter Klaus may put some oranges or something in it. Or coal.

Anyways, I'm off! Vrolijke Kerstmis aan allen,

Webfilter Violations

|
At school, don't you just hate it when you can't get onto those games sites you've been wanting to go on since grade 9? Well, we have a solution! http://p.ipzy.com is the site for you! All you have to do is uncheck all the boxes, then type in the URL you want to visit and click browse. It'll work for pretty much anything. However, I know it doesnt work for Facebook or other log-in places.

I especially hate it when you REALLY want to play some other good games when you're in the computer lab, and your teacher won't mind at all, seeing as they are dumb/dead/momentarilly knocked unconscious. http://www.frenchhelp.info changed my life XD. It is a site composed of two forms, one with "french help", and one with a games list full of games not blocked by the webfilter thing. All you gotta do it click and drag the screen to make both forms fit on the page. Simple as that.

Anyways, that's about it for my uber first post,

Stories from the Working Life

|
Anyways, I decided this post wasn't going to be a vid post...

instead, I wanna get a few things off of my mind.

Working at Bulk Barn is fun, but sometimes the people... man, they just drive me OFF THE F***ING WALL...

Here are some events...

=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=
Today, I was vacuuming, suddenly the power shuts off (this is normal, sometimes people unplugs it accidentally, this I can take), when I go back to plug it in again I meet the old fruit bag that unplugged my vacuum, she says:

"my buddy and I think this cord is too dangerous... so i unplugged it..."

right then, i was furious, i wanted to smack her! I worked 6 hours already, and have 2 more to go, I'm dead tired, and this imbecile unplugs my cord expecting me to stop vacuuming? WTF was wrong with her head?

think about it, vacuuming has to be done, anyone with an higher IQ than Bush knows that... do you want food that was half eaten by rats? or do you look on the ground, see the cord, then walk AROUND THE FU**ING THING?

ok, let's forget that, here's something else that she could've taken 30 seconds to think of, maybe, the person vacuuming can't do SHIT about this? maybe you have to talk to the manager, who DOESNT GIVE A FU** ABOUT THIS EITHER! but might have? maybe the manager, or better yet, the owner could change this..

how does stopping me from working so I get off work EVEN FU**ING LATER, benefit her?

she was my asshole of the day...

... ok ...

=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=

Another day...

I was mopping, I had just finished this aisle, when suddenly a person decided to walk down it, she was looking directly at me, eye to eye and she smiled, said "Oh, I'm sorry." Continues to walk down the aisle, not EVEN looking at anything in the aisle! Meaning, she wasn't even look for ANYTHING in this FU**ING AISLE!

this is like, somebody cuts you, smiles and says "Oh, I'm sorry." then continues to cut you...

obviously not as extreme, but think about it... it's not hard...

... ok ...

----------------------------------------------------------------

similar incident, except...

i finished mopping an aisle, we were 5 minutes from closing, an old bat hurries into the store, walks down my aisle to go to the next aisle...

first of all, you're NOT supposed to shop 5 minutes from closing,

second of all, you should LOOK at where you walk...

i had to fu**ing remop the aisle again... the second i was done, she comes, says "Excuse me" pushed me to the side, walks down the aisle, stops half way, gets something, then leaves...

ok... remop again...

i was almost done, and she walks down my aisle!

i wanted to... yes.. you guessed it, smack her silly...

... ok ...

=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=

co-worker's experience...

she was a cashier, a person comes down, and puts hemp granola on the counter, (for those of you who didn't know, hemp granola has pumpkin seeds in it), cashier says,
"hemp granola..."
person: "no, pumpkin"

cash: "ok. hemp granola"

btw, it was hemp granola for sure...

person: "no! pumpkin!"

cash: "there's pumpkin in hemp granola, i know..."

person: "no! pumpkin!"

anyways, it took a while but finally, the person found out it was, in fact, hemp granola.

...ok....

=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=

i am now done my long rant from the working life...

here are just some funny names for food products

there's a kind of cereal in the store called: Adventure Crunch!

who knows wat will be in ur next CRUNCH! (no, it just doesnt work for food products, especially cereals...)

and there's a kind of snack mix called: Garden of Eatin'

...... ok....
