Christmas Filler

Right, so Blogger's acting all laggy and delayed, and everyone's pretty busy at this time, so I guess it's Filler Time^® (that's right, it's registered). 'Tis the summative season and everyone's quite, quite busy, meaning that not only are we not going to be able to update frequently, but Aidan, Thomas and I are going to have to delay the release of our Christmas CD featuring musical hits like "Rudolph the Manically Depressed Reindeer", "The Twelve Days of Stabbing", and "Michael Jackson's Coming To Town". Game Master(GM) Harrassement

Don't you just hate it when people start reporting you for every little stupid thing you do in a game? You could just be waltzing down a street and they'd be like omgwtfh4xdanc0rzreported before you tell them to type /waltz or whatever. Well, I know for a fact that the GMs hate this stuff, and pretty much hate being talked to, bothered, or even given presents. They pretty much suck. It must come from sitting on the computer 24/7 telling kids not to do things. Anyways.. I hadn't tried to pick up anyone for a while, but there were some Game Masters hanging around in a city, and I couldn't resist. So, I went through my pickup line sequence and they got really pissed at me and banned me from the game for three days. I told them that hitting on GMs wasnt illegal, and they knew I was right. So, they unbanned my Jesus, but made a new rule saying"no GM harrassement. THIS INCLUDES HITTING ON THEM." That's pretty harsh stuff right there. I mean, they should be flattered! Not Everyone gets..... wait.. nevermind.

Jesus... Episode 1?

Alright, so today is a very special day. It marks the day that Adam and Yu Xuan agreed to have me write up my very own Ragnarok Online story about Jesus, my character. I made Jesus a couple of months ago, and his purpose is to severely piss off pretty much everyone in the game by killing everyone, using pickup lines on everything and everyone, and hitting on GMs. These are just a couple of stories about Jesus and his beautiful, beautiful life.

Alright, so a couple of days ago, I was trying my luck in pvp and this one person kept trying to kill me. Seeing as the person was a girl, I tried some ridiculous pick up lines on her. I froze her in the game, which doesnt allow you to run away from me, and tried my luck :P. These were the ones I used:

So, I really was expecting to get brutally told off like all my other victims, but this one was BR*. When I told her the 5th pick up line, she said "kk". I was like WTF? That should never work, so I ended up running away. Except this girl kept following Jesus around. I actually had to change characters and was too afraid to go back on Jesus that day. This and some stories to come are just some of Jesus' amazing adventures in the world of BR private servers.
* - BR people pretty much live on RO, they play it 24/7. The problem is, they dont speak english, yet they play english MMOs. It pisses everyone off.

Alright, made a couple little changes to the site that may or may not make your life easier (at least, the infinitesimal portion you spend looking at this site easier).
Number One: comments will now appear in a pop-up window. This way, you can comment while not leaving the actual post page. I'm not sure if this is complicated by pop-up blockers, if it is please fill me in and if need be I will go back to the older system.
Number Two: I am now requiring word verification for comments. This may seem like a pain in the ass at first, but I've gotten alot of bot comment which I hope this will get rid of.
Number Three: I added a new member. More members = more posts = better. Or so I hope. Unless he's the second coming of g33k (curse your bi-annual posting.)

At school, don't you just hate it when you can't get onto those games sites you've been wanting to go on since grade 9? Well, we have a solution! http://p.ipzy.com is the site for you! All you have to do is uncheck all the boxes, then type in the URL you want to visit and click browse. It'll work for pretty much anything. However, I know it doesnt work for Facebook or other log-in places.

I especially hate it when you REALLY want to play some other good games when you're in the computer lab, and your teacher won't mind at all, seeing as they are dumb/dead/momentarilly knocked unconscious. http://www.frenchhelp.info changed my life XD. It is a site composed of two forms, one with "french help", and one with a games list full of games not blocked by the webfilter thing. All you gotta do it click and drag the screen to make both forms fit on the page. Simple as that.

Stories from the Working Life

Anyways, I decided this post wasn't going to be a vid post...

instead, I wanna get a few things off of my mind.

Working at Bulk Barn is fun, but sometimes the people... man, they just drive me OFF THE F***ING WALL...

Here are some events...

Today, I was vacuuming, suddenly the power shuts off (this is normal, sometimes people unplugs it accidentally, this I can take), when I go back to plug it in again I meet the old fruit bag that unplugged my vacuum, she says:

"my buddy and I think this cord is too dangerous... so i unplugged it..."

right then, i was furious, i wanted to smack her! I worked 6 hours already, and have 2 more to go, I'm dead tired, and this imbecile unplugs my cord expecting me to stop vacuuming? WTF was wrong with her head?

think about it, vacuuming has to be done, anyone with an higher IQ than Bush knows that... do you want food that was half eaten by rats? or do you look on the ground, see the cord, then walk AROUND THE FU**ING THING?

ok, let's forget that, here's something else that she could've taken 30 seconds to think of, maybe, the person vacuuming can't do SHIT about this? maybe you have to talk to the manager, who DOESNT GIVE A FU** ABOUT THIS EITHER! but might have? maybe the manager, or better yet, the owner could change this..

how does stopping me from working so I get off work EVEN FU**ING LATER, benefit her?

I was mopping, I had just finished this aisle, when suddenly a person decided to walk down it, she was looking directly at me, eye to eye and she smiled, said "Oh, I'm sorry." Continues to walk down the aisle, not EVEN looking at anything in the aisle! Meaning, she wasn't even look for ANYTHING in this FU**ING AISLE!

this is like, somebody cuts you, smiles and says "Oh, I'm sorry." then continues to cut you...

The Halo God

OK, I'm feeling pretty bored right now, so I guess I'll make a couple more posts. This is a video I'm sure alot of you have seen, it's on Google Video, Metacafe, and probably YouTube (I didn't bother checking), but I guess I like the Metacafe embeddable player the most. Eventually, I'll stop just putting up vids, and hopefully have some slightly oroginal content, but man, does Mr. McCabe assign alot of work. But I digress. Halo 2, developed by Bungie came out November 9th, 2004, and is widely considered to be the best game out for the Xbox 360. To me, it comes down to a tie between Halo 2 and GRAW, but it's just a matter opinion (yes, I'm trying to avoid using that joke, it gets lamer every time. As if it ever wasn't lame).
Since that time, an organisation called Halo Pro has been established for people who are absolute freaks at/for the game, which sponsors the gamers, meaning they don't have to go to work, so they can spend all their time playing the game. This guy/girl is one of them. I personally don't understand how people can get this good at a game in so little time, even if they spent all their time playing it. Seriously. The no-scope head-sniping and no-look sticking is ridiculous.

When I was about 8 or so, my dad bought me a fiberglass bow and some arrows. I remember trying to hit a target from about 5 metres away, and missing pretty much every time. Eventually, I gave up, and my dad and I just had contests to determine who could shoot an arrow farther. I don't know what that has to do with this video, but I know from past experience that this is harder than it looks. Which is really saying something.

Well, I'm back from my "vacation." The school year has started, the soccer season is rolling, not to mention basketball preseason, hockey, fotball, and MLB playoffs. I will not lie to you, my mind has been else where. Actually, a while back I attempted to post something, but it wiped out the entire website and I had to delete the post, which IMHO was really well written. Friggin html. Anyways, one must applaud N0n4m3 (I hope I got that right) 's efforts by practically going at a post-a-day rate, so I felt bad for not backing him up. Welcome Back!

Canoeing on Lac Verte.

Yup, it's that time of year again, when the kids are going back to school, people are returning from vacations, and the world turns dreary and mundane again after a two month reprieve. It's also the first entry since going on vacation, and I know that my three faithful viewers were complaining that it's high time I updated again.
So I thought that I should maybe inform you of what's going on. Those upgrades I promised, well, it's gonna have to wait until I get a version of Adobe Photoshop that works *looks at Jamie*. I haven't been updating a whole lot recently, in fact I did nothing in the month of August. I was spending July toiling in summer school classrooms with no AC and some very odd students ( in fact, if I ever hear the phrases "say word" or "why you trippin'?", then two weeks of therapy will go down the drain). As a result, I felt that I needed a break from computers and this website (which I remind is not a money making venture and as a result is not always my top priority) and spent more time outdoors. I suppose it was unconventional to just not update for a month instead of warning you of my one month sabbatical, but if I were to do it the unoriginal way then it would be just like school, wouldn't it? ; )
My summer basically consisted of soccer (My team did better than Josh's team!), the occasional tennis game, and camping in some desolate rock with my family and my dog, but after careers, anything can seem exciting. Oh yeah, and a trip down to Maine, but we got rained out and I wrecked my nice new shoes. And a hell of a lot of wintermauls (Etienne you addict).

Yeah, so that's basically what's goin' on down here at LMOM, just trying to let you know that I haven't died of massive internal bleeding or anything like that. That's my welcome back to you all, the guys down at Homestar Runner did one too and I have to say their's is much, much better than mine (despite the spelling error).

Gaming Update

Finally, another gaming update. Even though no one really cares about these games, I post them anyway. Here is a fun game with Worms-like gameplay. Territory War.

The Headbutt

The Fifa World Cup Of 2006, held in Germany, was one of the most successful sporting events ever. It brought in record crowds, showcased amazing talent, and, for a brief month, seemed to unite the world. The stage was set for the final match-up between the Azzuri (Italy) and Les Bleus (France), and it promised to be a climactic finish as the World Cup 2006 would go down as one of the best of all time.

Instead, in my opinion, it was a disaster. Picture this. The score is 1-1 in the 108th minute, the game appears to be heading for a penalty shoot-out, as neither team really seems to be able to get any pressure on the in opposing team's zone, and there's a seeminlgy harmless exchange between French Captain and star midfielder Zinedine Zidane and Italian defender Marci Materazzi. Materazzi seems to hold on to Zidane's shirt, Zidane says something, then Materazzi says something, Zidane appears to walk away, and then WHAM! runs into Materazzi, headbutts him in the chest, Materazzi falls to the ground. Zidane goes on to get a red card. Watch a video of it all happening here.
But before I break it all down for you, I'd like to tell you a little bit about Zinedine Zidane.
Zinedine Zidane is generally considered to be one of the greatest footballers of all time. He has won the FIFA World player of the year three times, and once as European Footballer of the year.

On April 26th, 2006, he announced he would retire from the sport, after the FIFA World Cup 2006. As such, the Final was the last game he would ever play, and he had a chance to retire on top of the world. Instead, he decided to headbutt some Italian defender and get a red card, and was ejected before the game even finished.

Why?

Materazzi and Zidane were watching a ball fly over when Materazzi grabbed his shirt. Zidane turns to him and according to lipreaders says "If you want my shirt, I'll give it to you after the game".

Zidane, who despite playing for the French team actually comes from Egypt, says that Materazzi then insulted his mother and sister, while other reports from lipreaders say that Materazzi called him a fucking terrorist.

Materazzi denies the claim saying "I didn't insult his mother. I lost my mother when I was 15 years old and I still get emotional when I talk about it." "I didn't call Zidane a terrorist and I certainly didn't mention his mother. I did not bring up Zidane's mother; for me a mother is sacred".

And here in my opinion is the absolute kicker:

"Zidane is my hero and I have always admired him alot."

Needless to say, this got alot of conspiracy theorists running, one of the most strange conspiracies being that the Italians had been developing these insults for two years before the World Cup, and had one for every major (non-Italian) player in the tournament. Unlikely, yes, but if true very disgusting.

Anyways, I suppose you're all wondering why I would bother to research so much on one topic. Well, this site, if I'm not mistaken, is called Like My Opinions Matter and I haven't really given my opinion on anything. So, I say that this whole scenario should be looked into further, and if conclusive evidence is found, Materazzi should be forced to return his World Cup ring (although this would never happen). If I happen to find out there's no such thing as a World Cup Ring, then I'll figure out some other punishment. I don't think getting fined is enough.

I KNOW this is a long time after the incident and no one cares, but I worked on it for a while and I've been pretty busy.

The reason I haven't been updating that often is because currently I am in a reach ahead course and there's alot of homework, plus I worked pretty hard on this one.

As for the site upgrades I had promised, they're coming, but I'm having some technical problems with the software necessary to do those things, and I'm really busy.

I don't think I need to say this, since most of my visitors come from his site, but be sure to check out Phleetside again, cos that one's up and running again after a brief shutdown. It's in the sidebar if you have no idea what I'm talking about.

Metacafe recently underwent a site upgrade-ion (or however you say it), and I've used alot of their vids on this site, so for those of you who have pretty bad media players, I'm deeply sorry, but it may be time for you to upgrade (points at Aidan).

Joga Bonito

Joga Bonito is something I have borrowed from many times, but I've never really looked into Joga itself, and I (as well as many others) am often confused as to why there's an old guy introducing everything, and what Joga really is.
Joga Bonito is a term meaning "play beautifully" in portuguese. Joga Bonito is used by Nike, in addition to Google, to sell Nike products yes, but also to promote fair play and the better side of football.
The old guy who we so often see is Eric Cantona, a former French soccer player who played for Manchester United.
Famous players appearing in Joga Bonito include Ronaldinho, Thierry Henry and Wayne Rooney, as well as Fernando Torres, Sergio Ramos and Cicinho (for pantherezz).

Anyways, I do have a clip, called the Joga Chain, because my attempts at performing the actions I said I would do in the last update are delayed due to technical difficulties.

OK, this isn't really an update because I haven't been able to accomplish anything yet. I just want to keep you in the loop of what I'm planning to do with this site.
So, here's what I want to do:
Personalise the title. I know that may sound wierd and trivial but the way the design looks now it's not as personalised as I want it and also it doesn't have enough pizzaz.
Create a games page. I know first hand some people (Aidan) spend alot of time playing our games, and I want to maybe make them easier to access and and organise the site a little more. Eventually I might want to categorise the whole site, but that would take alot of work.

After I've accomplished these two things I'll look to maybe switch around the template a little more, and maybe edit my profile and make an about page.

Another thing I noticed was that when I go to a post page, the comments are really hard to read. I'll fix that. If you have any bugs to report, email me (you can find my email in my profile)
or comment on the site.

Hunting With Dick Cheney

In case you didn't know, Dick Cheney was involved in a hunting incident where he "accidently" shot and injured a man named Harry Whittington in February. Yep, It didn't take long for Family Guy to do something with this, although it took me a long time to post it. Well, this update has been loooooooooooooong overdue. And for that I apologise. You must remember, however, that I do not do this for a profession, nor do I make any money for this, so updating is not always my highest priority. That's why I have hired someone to do gaming updates, although now that he has a webcomic I fear they might be less commmon. Futsal

Man, and I said that I wouldn't put any more soccer clips up for a while. But when I put up clips I rate them based on how good they are, not necessarily the genre. And soccer is the best stuff I can find. Actually, it's not soccer. It's futsal, a game derived from soccer. The name comes from the spanish words futbol sala (accents thingies not included), and the Portuguese words futebol de salao. According to wikipedia, these both mean hall soccer. OKay, enough history, just watch the damn clip.
